General Policies
1. Arrivals and Departures
New arrivals can check into their rooms after 12pm each day. Guests may arrive earlier and leave their luggage at the hostel but access to rooms will not be granted until after 12pm. Departing guests must remove all their belongings from their room, and check out, before 12 pm (noon). After this time guests may make use of the luggage storage facilities but all possessions must be removed from the room and the security card handed back to reception. Arrivals at 6am in the morning will have to be aggreed on beforehand. As a general policy we charge early arrival an extra 500r as our staff will have to start earlier. Most of them live outside of Moscow and the metro ride takes a long time in, so they will have to get up very early. Likewise do you not get entry to your room as the other guests from the precious night are sleeping this early. You may leave your bags and then head out for sightseeing or breakfast. The earliest you will get entry to your room is 10:30am. But the russian employees have a habit being russian of beeing late for work, so most likely your looking at 11am in the morning. If its very important for you, please let us know beforehand so we can arrange it for you.
Late night check-ins past 10:30 will be charges an extra 500r as we have to pay our staff to work longer and pay for their taxi home.
2. Check In
You do not have to be a member of any organisation to stay at Dorothy's however we do require that some form of valid photo identification is presented upon check in, preferably a Passport, I.D. card or driving license.
3. Check Out
Check out is at 12pm (noon) and guests must hand all security cards back to reception together with locker keys.
4. Age Restriction
Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult (over 18).
5. Guest Behaviour
The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to Dorothy's. Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be requested to leave the hostel premises and will not be offered a refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and property. In the case of groups, the group leaders must ensure that all members of their group behave in an acceptable manor. Failure of any individual group member to do so will result in the expulsion of the whole group.
6. Smoking
Smoking IS permitted inside Dorothy's, but we appreciate that some might not like it. You may smoke in your room, but shoul there be a major disagreement between guest staying there at one point, the non smokers wish will be respected.
7. Personal Property
It remains the guest's responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times. Dorothy's accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to property however sustained or caused.
8. Dorothy's Property and cleaning
Guests will be expected to reimburse Dorothy's for any damages caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay at Dorothy's. The cleaner will be granted access to your room unless you expressed a concern about not wanting her/him to enter during your stay. This is to ensure that the cleanliness level is always maintained and for the convenience of changing sheets etc.
9. Keys and setup
Upon check in guests will receive a set of keys for access to Dorothy's. Keys must be handed back to reception on check out. The setup of the bed and breakfast is that the private rooms share a bathroom and a Toilet, both separate.
So you will be sharing with max 4 other guests in the other 2 rooms. So its never crowded and not been an issue for our guests in the past as we are a small bed and breakfast. We also don't have TV's in the rooms.
10. Liability
Dorothy's liability remains, at all times, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.
11. Transfers
We arrange transfers from the airports. The price quoted for the transfers are subject to your train or airplane arriving on time. The taxi's in Moscow charge per minute so if your plane or train is delayed its not our responsibility to pay for the extra cost of the taxi. We charge the actual cost of the taxi when your late or the transportation is delayed. We charge 500r if your transportation is more than 1 hour late. 300r if your 30min late. To avoid this you may want to either plan for delays or let us know if your arrival time changes. This is easy, just text us or call us on 79197724002. We make very little money on transfers, we arrange them as people are asking for them. As some people don't find their taxi, some never show up and some are late, we actually loose money on transfers. We arrange them as its hard for tourists in Moscow if they don't speak russian, likewise do they end up paying much more from scammers at the airport. We hope you appreciate this service.
12. Errors and Omissions
Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages or site, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgement, despatch note, invoice or other document issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any
13. Cancellations
Cancellations made 15 days before check in are subject to 100% refund on pre-payments. Cancellations made 10 days prior to Arrival are subject to 50% refund. Cancellations made 5 days before arrival are subject to 25% refund. In case if the cancellation is made within less than 5 days get no refund. This is because its difficult for us to rent out the rooms/beds with short notice.
14. Pre-payments
We ask our guest to pre-pay their stay if they are staying for 3 or more nights. This is as its hard for us to fill the rooms if we have no-shows. We do offer free registrations to guests should they pre-pay 100% of their stay. Please not though that we only do this i if they are staying longer than 3 working days with us in Moscow. This the legal requirement of registering in Russia. Should you want to register anyway , even if you don't need it we will charge you 1000r for it even if you have pre-paid.
15. Discretion
All bookings are subject to availability and Dorothy's reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
